Terms of Service — Ballistics.Systems

Effective Date: November 5, 2025

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Ballistics.Systems website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Site.

Use of the Site

The Site provides ballistics calculators, data visualization tools, downloadable reports, and optional member features for saving and retrieving data. You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Site. You agree to provide accurate registration information, keep your credentials secure, and accept responsibility for all activity under your account.

You may use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

Accounts, Plans, and Billing

We may offer both free and paid plans. Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Payments are processed by trusted third parties (such as Stripe). By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges according to your selected plan and payment method.

Refunds: If the service does not work for you, contact us within 14 days of first purchase. Refunds may be granted at our discretion, consistent with applicable law. Cancellations stop future billing; paid features remain available until the end of the current billing period.

User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create or upload, including saved loads, notes, and calculation results (“User Content”). By submitting or storing User Content, you grant Ballistics.Systems a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Site. You represent that you own or have the rights to provide such content.

Do not upload or transmit any content that is illegal, defamatory, infringing, or harmful to others or the Site.

Prohibited Conduct

When using the Site, you agree not to:

  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt servers, networks, or security measures.
  • Scrape, harvest, or mine data except through authorized API endpoints.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy Site code or database structure.
  • Use the Site to transmit malware, spam, or harmful code.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or entity.

Accuracy, Safety, and Disclaimers

Ballistic data and results depend on numerous variables beyond our control. Outputs are provided for educational and research purposes and may not reflect real-world performance for every firearm, environment, or load. Always confirm results through safe, controlled range testing and professional judgment.

Ballistics.Systems provides the Site and all content “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. You assume full responsibility for how you use the data and results.

Intellectual Property

All software, databases, visual design, trademarks, and content on the Site (excluding User Content) are the exclusive property of Ballistics.Systems or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You may view and download content for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the Site’s content without prior written permission.

Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership rights in any part of the Site or its content.

Third-Party Services and Links

The Site may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites or services (for example, payment processors, data providers, or analytics tools). Those third parties are independent of Ballistics.Systems and governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, practices, or availability.

Export and Compliance

The Site may contain or generate technical information subject to U.S. export laws. You agree to comply with all applicable export and re-export restrictions and not to use the Site in violation of such laws.

Termination and Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if necessary for operational, security, or legal reasons. If terminated for cause, refunds will not be provided. You may cancel your account at any time through your account settings; cancellations are effective at the end of the current billing period.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ballistics.Systems, its owners, employees, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Site or its content. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty dollars ($50) if you paid nothing.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ballistics.Systems, its affiliates, and personnel from and against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue. You waive any objection based on inconvenient forum.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
